Editing Service Rates

Often, it’s not until an editor is deep into a manuscript that they can ascertain the amount of work required. Early chapters are usually in better shape than the middle or later chapters, as authors tend to rework them the most.

For this reason, I work on a quoted range basis.

If, while working on your project, I come in under budget, I will reduce my quote. If I feel the manuscript needs a lot more work than I anticipated, or the word count is more than expected, I will discuss this with you before the job ends. My service is about quality not quantity.

Below, you will find a calculator providing a from/to range of rates for each type of editing service I offer.

Sample edit

Every editor has their own style and personality. If you are unsure whether we would be a good fit, requesting a sample edit is a good opportunity to assess our suitability before committing to a full project.

$100 for a maximum of 1,000 words.

This cost will be deducted from your full quote should you decide to go ahead and book an editing service on your manuscript.
