This relaxed 1.5 hour introductory memoir workshop will give you a clear understanding of what memoir is and give you some tools to get started with writing your own memoir.

You will learn:

  • The difference between memoir and autobiography
  • The different types of memoir to determine what best suits you
  • Methods to gather and sort through your material and memories
  • What is “truth” in memoir?
  • Writing exercises to stimulate your memory 

Fiction Workshop

Duration: 3 hours

  • The meaning of “show, don’t tell”
  • Character motivation and dialogue
