Summary

Will the assassination attempt of the most powerful religious leader in the world bring the distraction required to detain the two main characters Nathan and Alana? Could this be the bridge they need to revisit their marriage, something they both secretly desire?

Let's talk about it

Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.
I had no interest in writing until my late 40s. My first novel has taken 20 years, due to managing our own business and inconsistency.

Why did you choose the themes in your book and were you aware of them from the start?
The idea came from my husband and my travels over many years of places we had visited. Making a fiction storyline in to thread all the places together.

How difficult was it for you to write this book? Did you face any obstacles?
Yes, initially I keep going in to backstory, which AJ Collins helped me to make the story flow.

Do you always write in this genre or do you like to break out of the box?
Break out of the box at times with a political thriller.

What are your writing habits or idiosyncrasies?
I need to be away from home, too many distractions.

What would you do differently next time?
Keep up the momentum, not take off years from writing time.

With hindsight, what would you say to yourself as a fledgling writer?
Less is more

If you worked with a professional editor, what was the experience like?
AJ Collins was of immense value to my first fiction novel A Token Gift ever being published.

What’s next for your writing?
I’m currently working on a prequel to A Token Gift called Beyond Borneo.

Author Bio

I feel inspired to write about injustice and fraudulent behaviour in high places. My favourite quote is from Edmund Burke “The only thing necessary for the triumph of Evil is for good men to do nothing”. I strongly believe that most people’s thoughts are not of their own thinking but are manufactured by the TV, false news and even sometimes from the University Professor who loves to tell us what to believe.

The Outlander series of novels written by Diana Gabaldon is one of my favourite reads where she takes her readers on a glorious journey of romance and adventure while also giving the reader wonderful insight of what it would be like to live in the mid seventeen hundreds.

It was through her inspiration that I have now completed my first novel A Token Gift which is a Romance thriller using my characters to reveal how religion is a far cry from Christianity and how it has snaked is way through politics to confuse the masses and shaped the world into the mess it is in today.
